Q+A: Old Seeds
DEBBIE ASKED:
I bought seed packets over a year ago - do those seeds stay 'fresh' and can they be used this year?
Response:
Most seeds will keep more than one year. I have tomato seeds that are five years old and still germinate well.
There are exceptions to everything—and the big one with older seeds is parsnips. If you have old parsnip seeds, chuck them out and buy new ones.
